We have a zero-tolerance policy for unethical behavior, and our playbook has always instructed our folks to communicate our product clearly and accurately.ĭuring our interview process, we go to great lengths to set expectations about what can be expected in the role and what the day-to-day looks like for an Account Executive. Transparency in sales is something that we coach from the very beginning, and we are certainly concerned to hear that you felt that lying was necessary to get ahead at Yelp. Our Account Executives play a very important role within our company, and we truly value their hard work every single day, as we understand that there are many challenges that come with a role in sales. We are sorry to hear that your experience on our team was anything less than what you had hoped for. Thank you for sharing your feedback and concerns with us. Thank you again for your feedback, and we wish you the very best in your next role. We know this approach is not for everyone, but we've created a successful and supportive environment through this strategy. While we understand it can be challenging to be held accountable to specific metrics on a daily basis, we know that this is the best way one can be successful in sales. Sometimes that can look like various one-on-one conversations throughout the day, and setting sales quotas that encourage people to continually improve. Our goal is to give ample support for our sales team while they learn new sales skills and practice new tactics. Our management style at Yelp is very hands-on, and to some this may feel like micromanagement. Many new and tenured employees at Yelp truly enjoy their jobs and find that the continuous challenge is inspiring and helps them grow their skill sets. We go to great lengths during our interview process to set expectations on the challenges of the role, as we never want to spring surprises on anyone on day one. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. If you are a person that doesn’t care about your mental health then this job is for you! Otherwise stay away! The best part about working for Yelp is the benefits. Please save your the stress and aggravation. This job will have you sooo stressed out. They bombard you with one on ones and team meeting throughout the day but you are still somehow required to hit 80 calls and 2hrs of talk time. They willĬonstantly micromanage you literally talking in your ear while you’re trying to get a sale it’s so annoying. I never had a sales job where I need four sales in order to see commission. Also if my customer decided not to pay their bill or decided to cancel before 3 months I end up owing the company money which is insane! Management is also no help they just try to cover they butts and do what they are told from upper management. This role will make you feel like a telemarketer. In the beginning they put up this façade that they care about employees work/life balance and mental health but it’s all a lie. I have been in sales over 10 years and this is absolutely the worst sales company I have ever worked for. We're thankful for your time at Yelp and wish you the best of luck in your next role! Your feedback is heard, and we'll be sure to share it with our leaders. All told, our compensation package is based on what our employees value most - total rewards. This package includes things like stock incentives, cash bonuses, 401(k) matching, wellness reimbursements, work from home reimbursements, mental health and wellness services, and employer-paid insurance, to name a few. We focus on rewarding every person with a competitive compensation package centered on much more than just a paycheck. In addition, a career in sales of any kind comes with a fair set of challenges. All told, these improvements are creating a much more equitable and modern territory assignment system for our sales force. These changes are designed to give each person a more balanced group of accounts and move away from a traditional "patch" of contiguous zip codes. Our territories are randomly assigned, and pools are swapped between folks every few months in order to ensure that all of our Account Executives are given fair opportunities for success. We're sorry to hear that your experience was anything less than what you had hoped for.
